About Course

This course offers a beginning graduate-level introduction to quantum information. It focuses on gaining a fundamental knowledge of how quantum systems process information and how those systems’ quantum properties relate to computing and communication processes. The foundation for information processing presented in the course’s opening lecture is the quantum theory. The first quantum devices use one or two qubits. State, dynamics, and measurement axioms of quantum theory are described in terms of the creation, evolution, and readout of qubits. There is an explanation of quantum computing and quantum transmission. One important resource for processing quantum information is defined as entanglement. Entangled state manipulation and measurement are offered.
